The 5 Stages of SPEAK

Each stage builds on the previous. Students progress at their own pace - no child is rushed before they are ready.

Stage Confidence

From stage fear to stage presence

The first barrier every child must break is fear. In the S-phase, students learn to stand tall, breathe correctly, make eye contact, and own their space - before they say a single word.

  • Eliminate stage fright through gradual exposure
  • Body language - posture, gestures, stillness
  • Breathing techniques for calm delivery
  • Eye contact practice with real audiences
Adapted for each age group (6-15)
Powerful Voice

Your voice is your instrument

A confident message delivered in a weak voice loses its impact. In the P-phase, children learn to control pitch, pace, pause, and projection - the four dimensions of a powerful speaking voice.

  • Voice modulation - pitch and tone control
  • Pace control - slowing down for impact
  • Strategic pausing for dramatic effect
  • Projection without shouting
Exercises adapted for developing vocal cords
Engaging Stories

Facts tell, stories sell

The best speakers in the world lead with stories. In the E-phase, children learn the art of structured storytelling - how to open with a hook, build tension, and close with a message that sticks.

  • Story structure - hook, body, resolution
  • Sensory language for vivid descriptions
  • Personal anecdote techniques
  • Audience-aware storytelling
Story prompts tailored to child's interests
Audience Connection

Speaking to people, not at them

Great speaking is a two-way conversation. In the A-phase, children learn to read the room, respond to reactions, ask questions, and create a genuine connection with whoever is listening.

  • Reading audience energy and adjusting
  • Rhetorical questions and call-and-response
  • Empathy-driven communication
  • Handling unexpected reactions calmly
Roleplay scenarios with real feedback
Knowledge with Conviction

Speak with authority, not arrogance

The final phase brings it all together. Children learn to research, structure arguments, form opinions, and deliver them with evidence and conviction - the skill that turns speakers into leaders.

  • Structuring arguments logically (claim → evidence → impact)
  • Debate and persuasion techniques
  • Handling questions and counter-arguments
  • Developing a unique speaking style
Real debate and presentation projects
